A few words from the Chairman

If you are involved in an arts related activity locally then please do get in touch to see whether Sparkenhoe can help you with publicity. In turn, you may be able to help us spread the word about The Arts Society Sparkenhoe!

Our drive for new members is going well with a small number of new members either joining or rejoining and I welcome those new members to the Society.

A small flyer promoting the Society and is available from the sign in desk at lecture evenings or at a number of venues in the community.

Our lectures this programme year have been exceptionally well received, due to the excellent topics chosen by our Programme team.

We are now part of the wider community comprising Market Bosworth and the surrounding area, as members of the Enjoy Market Bosworth website (MarketBosworth.org).This will improve our reach and, we hope, attract guests and potential new members from a greater area. I am pleased to say our advertising campaign through local media has worked well and we will continue our ongoing commitment to encourage and attract the local community to enjoy the Arts.

Adding to this we have a strong commitment to supporting and encouraging Young Art in the community, in order to achieve this young people under 18 or in full time education may attend lectures free of charge. We will continue to keep in contact with local schools to encourage and develop creativity in Art, with projects aimed to this end.

We are a society whose aim is to shine a light on, and connect you, with Art, in all its forms, in an interesting, informative and meaningful way that encourages members and guests alike to leave our lectures  saying "I didn't know that about Street Art" or "I didn't know Leonardo had such a fascinating life outside of his art"
