Linda Plummer and Gill Lawrence organised two visits in 2016 for members of the Sparkenhoe Arts Society.

The 1st visit  was to Ironbridge in Shropshire on Wednesday 18 May 2016

The Ironbridge visit included a private guided tour of the Jackfield Tile Factory.  There were also opportunities to visit the 'Design and Desire' exhibition on the 1851 Great Exhibition and the many other attractions on the Ironbridge site.  These include: the Blists Hill Victorian Town, the Darby Houses, the Coalport China Museum, the Coalbrookdale Iron Museum and the Ironbridge and Gorge.

The cost of the trip (£40 [60+] and £44 [under 60]) included a 'Passport ticket' which is valid for 12 months.  A fish and chip lunch was available at the Blists Hill Victorian Town.  This was not included in the visit cost.  The coach left Market Bosworth at 8.30am and arrived back in Market Bosworth at 6.30pm.

We celebrated the 300 year anniversary in 2016 of England's most famous gardener 'Capability Brown' with a visit to Burghley House and its beautiful gardens. The visit included private tours of the House with the House Guides and the Gardens with the Head Gardener.
